Honors -
Students learned about air masses. The PPT is posted in Google Classroom. Foundational - Students are starting to learn about pressure systems. The resource is posted in Google Classroom. Honors - Students finished learning about the water cycle. The resource is posted on Google Classroom. Students will have a water cycle check-in on Tuesday.
Foundational - Students started the next unit - storms and weather. Students started by recording observations and patterns for 4 video and map sets (on Google Classroom). Students then developed questions they were wondering about storms. Honors: Students presented their Bills to their peers. Grades are entered in HAC for those that presented. On Friday, most classes finished the presentations. Periods 1 and 3 started the next unit - storms. All classes will start/review the unit on storms starting Monday through a “Storms” resource found on Google Classroom.
Foundational: Students finished modeling urbanization through the development of a town in the early 1800’s (start of industrial revolution). On Friday, students began learning about the connection among greenhouse gases, human population, fossil fuels, and human activity. The resources for Friday’s lesson can be found on Google Classroom. No Homework! Have a wonderful weekend :) Honors: Today, students should have been finalizing their Bill. Tomorrow, Bill presentations will begin. Students will present their Bill idea to the class (i.e. stage 3 on the drafting document in Google Classroom). A PowerPoint/Slides presentation is not necessary. Students should have cue cards/notecards to help guide their presentation. MLA citations are also not necessary so long as a URL is posted in the "sources" section of the drafting document.
Foundational: Students began modeling urbanization. Honors: Students are working to finish their climate change bill. Students should be done with all parts of this, including self and peer evaluations UNLESS they were absent when it as assigned. Students can access this through classroom.google.com (or through Google Docs). Students should be familiar with signing into Google. If not, they can use their school email ([email protected]) and school password to access this. On Tuesday, students are working create any presentation materials (notecards, PowerPoint, etc.). Presentations will start on Wednesday.
